Health Care Commission: 49 new confirmed cases, including 33 local cases

From 0:24 p.m. on August 1, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 49 new confirmed cases, of which 16 were imported from abroad (4 in Sichuan, 3 in Shandong, 3 in Hubei, 2 in Guangdong, 2 in Shaanxi, 1 in Shanghai, 1 in Fujian), 33 in China (30 in Xinjiang, 3 in Liaoning);
14 new cases were cured and discharged from hospital on the same day, 145 close contacts were released from medical observation, and 3 fewer serious cases were reported than the previous day.

As of 2400 hours on August 1, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported that there were 748 confirmed cases (of which 36 were serious cases), 79,003 cases had been cured and discharged from hospital, 4,634 cumulative deaths had been reported, and 84,385 confirmed cases (1 case in Xinjiang) had been reported, and 2 suspected cases existing. A total of 791,054 close contacts were traced and 21,445 close contacts were still under medical observation.
