Iran's world's largest methanol plant completes 70%

: Iran is actively promoting what it calls the world's largest methanol device construction process. Mohammad Hassan Peyvandi, head of Iran's National Petrochemical Corporation, said recently that the methanol project in the Persian Gulf coastal city of Bandar had been completed by 70 per cent.
the plant is designed to produce 2 million tons of methanol per year and will be put into operation in two stages. The first phase of the project will start production in August this year and will be fully operational in 2016. The device uses the production technology of Casale, Switzerland. Iran plans to increase its annual methanol production capacity to 25 million tons over the next five years, making it a major supplier of methanol to the world.
