JAHA: Clinical significance of newly diagnosed infections after admission to hospital with acute heart failure

Infection is a common predisposing factor in hospitalization and is associated with increased mortality in patients with heart failure

Factors independently associated with newly diagnosed infections include outpatients over 80 years of age, acute coronary syndrome , inability to walk, hyponatremia, anemia, intubation, and no loop diuretics

It can be seen that elderly patients with multiple comorbidities are related to newly diagnosed infections after admission to hospital due to acute heart failure
