Given that the obesity rate of young Americans has been increasing during the same period, a study published in JAMA Netw Open recently explored the relationship between obesity and malignant thyroid tumors in children

This study included all patients who underwent thyroid surgery at the Monroe Carell Junior Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center ( VUMC ) from 2003 to 2019 , who were younger than 21 years old at the time of surgery and were included in this retrospective transection.
