Food partner network newsfrom the National Agricultural and Food Standards Agency ofThailand onDecember 28: Starting from October 18, 2021, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) of Japan will increasethe triazolein fresh peppers and simply processed pepper products imported from ThailandThe random detection level ofphosphorus isincreased by 30%.
It was found that the residual amount of triazophos in pepper imported from Thailand exceeded the standard (0.
    01 ppm) required by Japan.
According to the list of specific controlled plants announced by the Ministry of Agriculture of Thailand, fresh peppers exported from Thailand to Japan must be certified by the Ministry of Agriculture of Thailand before being exported (the Ministry of Agriculture of Thailand should apply for a certificate of specific controlled crops).
When the pesticide residue value of imported pepper exceeds the Japanese standard, Japan will also increase the level of random inspection of all related product categories.
This will affect the overall import situation of products.
If imported products are often found to be non-compliant, the random sampling level may be increased to 100%, and every time the product is imported, it must be inspected by a Japanese registered laboratory.
Therefore, Thai manufacturers are required to control and inspect whether pesticide residues in exported agricultural products are within the scope of the standards set by the importing country.
