    Kazakhstan's food security index (score 67.3) ranks 48th out of 113 countries in the world, up nine places from the year before (57th), according to data released by the Kazakhstan Capital Network on November 25, citing data released by the Energy Industry Network.

    food security index is based on a combination of 34 indicators, including food purchasing power, supply power, quality and security, natural resources and resilience, to measure a country's food security status.

    January-October 2020, Kazakhstan's food industry output value of 1.6 trillion tgs, up 17.5% YoY, real output increased by 3.4%.
    regions with higher output in the food industry were Almaty (232.6 billion trgo, plus 26.5 per cent), Kostanai (202 billion trances, plus 27 per cent) and Almaty (196.5 billion tinges, plus 9.8 per cent).
    food industry is mainly concentrated in the following categories: rice noodles and starch (303.9 billion tango, up 35.3 per cent, or 19.3 per cent);
    the end of October, food prices rose 10.8 percent from a year earlier.
    foods with larger increases in the value of the food included eggs (-18.8%), fruits and vegetables (-13%), aquatic products (-10.9%), meat and products (-9.5%), dairy products (-9.1%), sugar and sugar products (-9.1%).
    fastest-growing areas for food prices include Chimkent, Kezilorda and Pavlodar.
