Back pain is one of the most common complaints in patients in the first few hours after coronary anthosis (CA), when the patient is restricted to a full bed rest.
study aims to assess the effects of foot reflex therapy on CA back pain.
the randomized controlled trial included patients admitted to the post-angius laboratory at Therazi Hospital in Birjand, Iran, from 2018 to 2019.
recruited 120 patients to assess their demographic characteristics and baseline back pain intensity immediately after angiography using demographic questionnaires and visual simulation scales, respectively.
then randomly assigned patients to the control group (n-60) and the reflexotherapy group (n-60) by block randomization.
the anti-reflex therapy group received 8 minutes of foot reflex therapy (16 minutes of foot) per foot, while those in the control group received only routine post-angiotomy care.
the back pain of all participants immediately, 2, 4, 6 hours after the intervention.
using SPSS software (v. 16.0) to analyze the data.
results showed a significant increase in back pain intensity (P.05) in both groups after angiotomy.
, the pain intensity of the reflexotherapy group was significantly lower at all measuring points after intervention than in the control group (P .lt; 0.001).
, the results show that foot reflex therapy can effectively reduce the back pain after CA surgery.
