    Listeria outbreak in Norway 4 people have become ill

    According to the US Food Safety News Network, smoked salmon has been linked to an outbreak of listeria in Norway, which has caused four people to become ill
    .
     
    Those affected are between
    50 and 90 years old.
    The patients are two women and two men
    residing in Nordland, Trøndrago, Oslo and Viken.
    Patient samples were taken between February and August this year, and all patients were hospitalized
    .
     
    The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) said bacteria with the same genetic characteristics were found in samples from all four patients, suggesting they had an infection
    of a common source.
