SOD1 variants in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) are associated with specific clinical features and disease progression, but rarely with cognitive and behavioral impairment
    .

Italian ALS patients were continuously selected to our Centre for Motor Neuron Diseases
    between 2012 and 2020.

The results of studies in a large number of patients with deep phenotyping ALS suggest that behavioral involvement is more common than previously thought in patients carrying SOD1 variants and is not related to
the patient's age and stage of disease.
