    The burden of stroke has been increasing in the United States, with healthcare costs projected to more than double by 2030


    Using nationally representative data on stroke survivors in the United States from 2004 to 2017, researchers examined (1) overall temporal trends in receiving outpatient care for depression, including race/ethnicity, and comparisons with the non-stroke population.


    The study sample included 10,243 adult stroke survivors and 264,645 non-stroke adults from a nationally representative survey in the United States, the Healthcare Expenditure Group Survey


    Although post-stroke depression is common, most stroke survivors do not receive mental health treatment
