Academician Wang Hongyang recalls his teacher Wu Mengchao
He urged: "Liver cancer can't be done by surgery.

    Editor's note:

    Editor's note:

In 1996, Munich, Germany, a snowy night with the whistling north wind.

Before he could wipe the snow off his body, he said to Wang Hongyang, "I came to visit you, and I want to invite you back to China.

Many years ago, Wu Mengchao and his teacher Qiu Fazu jointly recommended Wang Hongyang to study in Germany.

Today, Wang Hongyang has grown into a famous tumor molecular biologist and was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

In 1987, while still working in the Changzheng Hospital, I was loaned to the China-Germany Medical Association Annual Meeting held by the Second Military Medical University to work as a conference secretary.

This is something I didn't expect at all, so I asked him why.

I have been there for 8 years.

As soon as he saw me, he said: "I have reported to the school party committee and want to invite you back to China, or to work for the school in a different way.

    It turned out that Mr.

    Mr.

My main work is basic research and applied translational research on liver and gallbladder tumors.

Although I still have some topics in Germany that have not yet been completed, the students I supervised have not yet graduated.

    Later, Mr.

    For colleagues and students, Mr.

    As we all know, Mr.

Apart from medical treatment and surgery, we don't know what other hobbies Wu Lao has.
He said that when he was a child, his family was very poor, and he relied on rubber tapping to make a living since he was a child.
He had no hobbies and talents.

On the last day and night of his life, including me, more than 20 students, staff and his relatives were all in the ward, taking turns to accompany him on duty to spend the last period of time.

We all know that without Mr.
Wu, there would be no Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital under our feet, nor would we have passed on from generation to generation.
He is a pioneer and a leader.
In our hearts, he has never gone far, nor will he go far.
He wants to see the Chinese get rid of the liver disease hat, and he wants to see the successful completion of a healthy China!

(Orally by Wang Hongyang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, collated by reporter Li Chenyang)
