    Recently, the research group of Professor Lu Yonggang from the School of Information Science and Engineering of Lanzhou University, in cooperation with Zhu Li, associate professor of the School of Life Sciences of Lanzhou University, and Professor He Jing of the Department of Computer Science of Old Dominion University, proposed a three-dimensional protein reconstruction algorithm based on spherical embedding.


    Protein structure analysis is the core subject of molecular biology, which is of great significance for people to understand the function of proteins, understand the pathogenesis of diseases, and carry out drug design and disease treatment


    Single particle analysis is the mainstream technique for protein structure determination by cryo-electron microscopy


    In order to improve the reliability of the 3D reconstruction results, Lu Yonggang's research group made full use of the overall consistency constraints of the projection direction and the equivalence line of the overall projection image in this research work.


    The experimental results show that the spherical embedding algorithm proposed in this paper can estimate the projection direction more accurately, and in the case of high noise, the algorithm can greatly reduce the error of the projection angle estimation
