New crown vaccination charges?

Under the policy of free vaccinations against the new crown, there are places where people are charged illegally.

On April 19, according to news from the Chinese government website, some people in Shijiazhuang, Handan, Xinji and other places reported through the State Council’s “Internet + Supervision” platform that they were charged for the new crown virus vaccine when they were vaccinated locally.

After preliminary verification of the messages from the masses, the inspection office of the State Affairs Office will promptly transfer it to the Hebei Provincial Government for verification.

After receiving the clues from the inspection office of the State Council, the Hebei Provincial Government immediately organized inspections and conducted inspections based on clues reported by the masses.

After investigation, the masses reported that the problem was true.

First, the vaccination agency in Gaocheng District, Shijiazhuang City, illegally charged 199 people with 87,500 yuan for new crown virus vaccination fees.

The second is that the Handan Economic and Technological Development Zone Hospital issued the "Notice on Further Improving the New Coronavirus Vaccination Work for Key Populations in the Province" on January 9, 2021.

During the city-wide investigation, Handan City found that a total of 6 counties (cities, districts) had problems with illegal collection of vaccine fees and vaccination service fees, involving 5,108 doses of new crown virus vaccines and a charge of 1,149,300 yuan.

Third, the Xinji City Ecological Environment Bureau will organize 12 front-line epidemic prevention and control personnel in two batches from January 18 to 19, 2021 to receive the first dose of new crown virus vaccine at the city’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and the vaccinators will pay 200 yuan for the vaccination costs.

Upon urging, relevant localities and departments have initiated reforms, and all related expenses have been refunded.

The Hebei Provincial Government stated that the next step will be to strictly implement the free vaccination policy for residents of the new crown virus vaccine at the implementation stage.

New crown vaccination, free policy for all people remains unchanged

As early as December 31 last year, the State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism held a press conference.

At a press conference held by the Joint Prevention and Control Unit of the State Council on January 9 this year, Zeng Yixin once again stated that individuals do not bear the cost of vaccines and vaccination costs.

Regarding the collection of personal fees in individual places, a document will be issued in the name of the Comprehensive Group of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council, requesting immediate rectification.

Therefore, both the cost of the vaccine itself and the cost of vaccination are jointly borne by the medical insurance fund and the finance, and individuals do not need to bear any costs.
