New research: Infection with the new crown after recovery may be hair loss and other sequelae

, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Japan's National Center for International Medical Research (NHK) recently conducted a follow-up survey on the after-effects of the new crown cure for patients, the Japan Delivery Association (NHK) reported Wednesday. The results showed that some of the cured patients developed sequelae such as hair loss, wheezing and long-term olfactory failure.
reported that the survey of 63 people, all between February and June of the new crown cure patients, the average age of 48.1 years old.
four months after the new coronary symptoms, 11 percent of them had wheezing symptoms, 10 percent had an abnormal sense of smell, 6 percent had cough symptoms, and 2 percent had an abnormal taste.
addition, in a supplementary survey of 58 of them, 14 (9 men and 5 women) were found to have developed hair loss about two months after developing symptoms, which accounted for about a quarter of the total.
five of the respondents who developed hair loss recovered in about two and a half months, but nine continued.
In response, Dr. Morioka, a doctor at the research center who conducted the study, said the cause of the hair loss was "probably due to psychological problems that occurred over too long" and said it would continue to investigate to find out the exact cause of the sequelae.
