Nigeria became the committee's regulatory exporter of agricultural products

The federal government announced the establishment of an inter-ministerial technical committee on Nigeria's agricultural products and non-oil exports to ensure the standardization of Nigerian agricultural products and the acceptance of the international community, the newspaper reported on February 19.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Saab Nanono, presided over the commission's inaugurat and said the state must strengthen regulation and inspections to ensure that Nigeria's agricultural products were no longer rejected by international markets.
Minister Nanono expressed concern about the Recent rejection of Nigerian legumes by the European Union, which could not achieve the goal of adequate food exports if the coffee produced in the country failed to meet international food certification standards.
that this should be of concern to Nigerians, particularly the ministries, departments and agencies responsible for producing and certifying agricultural products for export.
called on committee members and stakeholders in the agricultural sector to join hands to standardize agriculture in Nigeria, not only to improve food security for exports, but also for the safety of local food consumption.
