    Peru will export 30,000 tons of blueberries to China this season, a year-on-year increase of 111%

    The 2021/2022 Peruvian blueberry season started in early May (week 18) and is expected to last until April 2022

    Peru blueberry producers and exporting data Association (Proarándanos) provided show that the total shipments this quarter will be significantly increased by 25% to 200,000 tons
    .
     
    Of these, 49% will be shipped to the United States, 32% will be shipped to Europe, 17% will be shipped to China , and 2% will be shipped to other destinations

    As of the end of 2020, Peru has registered 46 blueberry varieties for export, a significant increase from the 13 varieties in 2016

    Priority is given to entering South Korea, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam
