    Among them, the potato spinning tuber virus (PSTVd) is a representative species of the potato spindle tuber virus family, potato spindle tuber virus genus.


    This study used potato spinning tuber virus and tomato/tobacco combination to explore the mechanism of RNA polymerase 1 in plant resistance to virus infection


    Studies have found that Ben's tobacco overexpressing RNA polymerase 1 gene (NtRDR1) can inhibit the accumulation of potato spinning tuber virus genomic RNA and PSTVd-sRNA (sRNA) in the early stage of infection, but the inhibition effect is not obvious in the later stage of infection


    In contrast, plants with tomato RNA polymerase 1 (SlRDR1a) gene silenced increased their susceptibility to potato spinning tuber virus infection and increased the amount of potato spinning tuber virus accumulation


    This research is the first report on the involvement of plant RNA polymerase 1 protein in plant defense against viruses, enriching our understanding of the interaction between plant viruses and hosts, and providing new ideas and methods for the prevention and control of plant virus diseases
