Preparation of bionic ultra-hydrophobic and anti-blood adhesion coatings.

A new work describes a bionic super-hydrophobic coating based on a new flowery micron particle using electrophoretic deposition (EPD) technology.

then deposit the flower-like particles with the positive shell polysaccharin on the substrate via EPD. After further changes with low surface energy reagents, the coating exhibits excellent ultra-hydrophobicity (contact angle is approximately 157 degrees and sliding angle is 2.1 degrees).

in addition, the ultra-hydrophobic coating exhibits mechanical durability, antibacterial adhesion and significant anti-blood adhesion. The results show that bionic ultra-hydrophobic coatings may have potential applications in medical devices due to their remarkable anti-blood adhesion properties.
