    According to the website of the General Administration of Customs, the General Administration of Customs Announcement No.
    3 of 2023 (Announcement on Preventing the Introduction of Cholera Epidemics into China) said that according to the World Health Organization (WHO) on December 16, 2022, the global cholera cases and deaths in 2022 have surged after years of decline, and more than 29 countries have outbreaks of cholera outbreaks or reported cholera cases, including Nigeria, Cameroon, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Haiti, Syria, Lebanon, Cholera endemic
    persists in countries such as the Philippines, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
     
    In order to prevent the cholera epidemic from entering China and protect the health and safety of people entering and exiting China, in accordance with the provisions of the Border Health Quarantine Law of the People's Republic of China and its implementation rules and other laws and regulations, the following announcement is hereby issued:

    Persons from the above-mentioned countries who have diarrhea, vomiting and other symptoms should take the initiative to declare to the customs when entering the country, and the customs health and quarantine personnel will take medical measures and carry out sampling and testing
    in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
     
    2.
    Aircraft, ships, containers and cargo from the above-mentioned countries that are infected or suspected of being infected shall be subject to sanitary treatment
    in accordance with prescribed procedures.
     
    This announcement shall take effect from the date of publication and shall be valid for 6 months
