The "Detailed Implementation Rules for Technical Evaluation of New Functions of Health Foods (Trial)" has the following key contents:

First, the positioning of new functions should be clear

Second, the new functions should ensure food safety

Third, new functions should have practical and reliable evaluation methods

The names of health care functions should be scientific, easy to understand, and easy for consumers to understand correctly.

In the interpretation of health care functions, based on population research to promote public health, the connotation and rationality of the names and functions of health care functions should be expounded, the basis for determining suitable populations should be clarified, and the possible misunderstandings of social cognition should be analyzed

In terms of the health care function mechanism, it should be in line with modern scientific theories such as medicine, nutrition, biology, or traditional Chinese medicine health care theory, and clearly define the types of health care functions that supplement dietary nutrients, maintain or improve body health, and reduce disease risk factors
