BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- A team at Japan's National Center for International Medical Research has developed a new technology that will predict whether patients will become seriously ill by testing the blood composition of patients with new crowns, the Japan Delivery Association (NHK) reported Thursday. The technology has attracted much attention because it helps to establish early detection methods for patients with severe illness.
, the team asked 28 new crown patients to provide regular blood samples to analyze in detail the relationship between changes in blood composition and changes in the condition, according to the report.
team found that from the early stages of infection, 12 newly crowned severe patients had a lower-than-usual protein called CCL17 in their blood, while those with mild illness had almost as much protein in their blood as usual.
, the team also found that the concentration of four other proteins in the blood of severely ill patients increased dramatically from a few days before the condition worsened.
reported that from the current treatment cases, some new crown patients, even if the initial symptoms are mild, but will suddenly become serious, to the treatment work has brought some difficulty. By testing the concentration of five proteins in the blood, the team said, it is expected to predict whether patients will become seriously ill.
, as of 23:59 local time on September 24, there were 80,603 confirmed cases and 1,537 deaths in Japan, according to the Japan Delivery Association.
