Researchers found that centenarians are anti-aging "protective umbrella" |
BEIJING, March 2 electric Kunming China Ke Xueyuan Kunming Institute of Zoology website on the 2nd released news that the expression of a study conducted by researchers first reported in Long non-coding RNA in the health and longevity of the elderly, and found some differences The expressed long-chain non-coding RNA may act as an anti-aging function.
Academy of Sciences
Aging is one of the greatest risk factors for human diseases.
To better understand the molecular mechanisms of the population life expectancy of Chinese Kexue Yuan Kunming Institute of Zoology Kongqing Peng Task Force to centenarians and their family members for the study of 121 individuals (including 76 centenarians, 54 centenarians F1 The blood samples of the first generation and 41 F1 generation spouses) were subjected to deep transcriptome sequencing to explore the role of lncRNA in the aging and anti-aging process.
Academy of Sciences
Researchers first identified 11 centenarian-specific lncRNAs (CEN-specific lncRNA) among centenarians, and K-mer cluster analysis found that they were significantly clustered with hundreds of human lncRNAs, indicating that these CEN-specific lncRNA may have important biological effects.
In the following analysis, the researchers used future generations of spouses as ordinary elderly controls and centenarians as long-lived elderly for differential expression analysis, and identified 8 lncRNAs that may be related to aging/healthy aging related lncRNAs.
Among them, THBS1-AS1 and THBS1-IT1 have attracted the attention of researchers.
Related research results were recently published in the international journal "Briefings in Bioinformatics".
