MOSCOW, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Mintai fish catch could be reduced by 300,000 tons due to China's anti-epidemic measures to close ports for Russian fisheries exports, the Russian satellite news agency MOSCOW said in a news release.
the director of the agency, Ilya Sestakov, said that the Russian side has not yet received China's procedures and inspection methods for detecting new coronavirus nucleic acids in fish product packaging.
he said the Fisheries Department had made recommendations to the industry to test crews for new crown vaccinations and new coronavirus, and to disinfect production and storage sites for fishery products, but Chinese ports remained closed to Russian exporters.
fisheries agency noted that the issue had been discussed at a meeting chaired by Yuri Trutnev, The Russian President's Plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District.
reported that Shestakov was quoted as saying: "The catch of mint fish in winter and spring may drop by 300,000 tons, but this situation is not critical for fishing enterprises."
enterprises have sufficient affordability to temporarily switch to other products.
"s measures to change that situation include the continued construction of fisheries processing plants in the Far East and the opening up of markets in other countries for the storage and processing of domestic products.
that the Japanese market is currently the most promising, its idle refrigeration capacity can meet 60,000 tons of products transshipment.
