Russian media say more Chinese consumers are turning down instant noodles, and more and more people are ordering healthy takeaways.
Chinese's interest in food values and nutrients is growing, according to the South China Morning Post, as cited by Russian satellite network Nov. 28. But sales of instant noodles have fallen significantly. In 2013, instant noodles sales totaled 46.2 billion packages, and over the next three years, total sales fell to 38 billion packs. Revenue at MasterChefu, China's largest instant noodles maker, fell by a third to $3.2 billion. Since 2011, takeaway orders have soared eightfold.
media pointed out that a similar situation has occurred in the beverage sector, with more Chinese starting to use high-quality drinking water instead of Coca-Cola, Fanta and other sports drinks and some sweet juices.
years, not only are healthy drinks Chinese, but the same trend has been found in Russia, according to the report. Russians are also increasingly abandoning bad habits, including quitting smoking and drinking, and exercise more often, according to the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research.
