Original title: Small fruit big role! Children eat blueberries or improve concentration
A study by the University of Reading in the UK shows that eating blueberries in children has an immediate effect on increasing concentration.
researchers conducted a double-blind trial in which a group of 7- to 10-year-olds were given cognitive tests that allowed some of them to drink wild blueberry juice and the other to take a placebo. The test method is to let the children see a series of arrows appearing on the computer in different directions, pressing the key corresponding to the direction of the arrow in the center of the computer.
The results showed that, with the right choice, children who drank blueberry juice were 9 percent faster overall than 1 percent who drank a placebo, and the more difficult the test was, the greater the difference, the Daily Telegraph reported.
, a professor of neurology and lead researcher on the study, said wild blueberries are rich in flavonoids, a substance previously shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, and new research has shown it can also help raise awareness. (Oye)
