From SeafoodMedia on September 1, South Korea imported 101 tons of frozen octopus in July this year , compared with 325 tons in the same period last year, a 69% drop year-on-year

The cumulative import volume in the first seven months was 1,020 tons, which was a decrease of 37% compared with 1,631 tons in the same period last year

The average import volume in July 2016-2021 was 268 tons, and the import volume in July this year was 62% lower than that figure

Frozen octopus mainly comes from 11 countries including Mauritania, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, Madagascar, and the import volume from Mauritania is 761 tons, accounting for 75%

Imports from Indonesia, the Philippines and China are 98 tons, 64 tons and 47 tons respectively, accounting for 10%, 6% and 5%
