    Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Association of Pig Industry (ACC) and relevant representatives of the European Union attended the meeting

    The survey interviewed 1,400 to 1,600 Paraguayans, including doctors, nutritionists, chefs, etc.
    The interviews covered the taste, price, and sales points of pork

    The survey aims to understand the prospects of pork consumption in Paraguay and find ways to promote pork consumption

    The survey results reflect that Paraguayan pork consumption is expected to grow well in the next few years, and pork consumption has huge potential

    According to Marcelo González, Deputy Minister of Animal Husbandry, the annual output of Paraguayan pork was 17,000 tons in 2010 and exceeded 63,000 tons by the end of 2020, a significant increase
    .
    In addition, in terms of per capita annual pork consumption, in 2010, Paraguay consumed only 3 kilograms of pork per person per year, and this figure increased to 9 kilograms by the end of 2020
    .
    Gonzalez said that the annual output of Paraguayan pork is expected to reach 221,600 tons in 2030, and Paraguayan high-quality pork will have the opportunity to enter the world market

      Gonzalez also pointed out that currently Paraguayans lack protein in their daily diet, and pork is the best choice to increase protein, not only because it tastes good and healthy, but also because it is much cheaper than other meats
