Survey shows that about one-third of new dessert products in the world are released with health claims

Last year, the European market was the region with the largest number of new dessert products with health claims, accounting for 49%, followed by North America and Latin America, accounting for 22% and 13% respectively

Data show that in 2016 and 2020, more than one-third of the world's new dessert products with health claims came from the dairy ice cream and frozen yogurt subcategories, which accounted for 34% and 37%, respectively

The survey found that there has been an increasing focus on plant-based desserts in the dessert market in recent years

In addition, in order to meet consumers' demand for food and beverage products that suit their unique lifestyles, "tailor-made" personalized nutrition is becoming the focus of the industry

The survey also found that consumers continue to seek a wider variety of sugar-reduced and protein-fortified desserts
