(Reporter Wang Cuizhu) Recently, Tetra Pak became the first company in the food and beverage industry to responsibly source plant-based polymers that meet Bonsucro certification standards
    .
Working with supplier Braskem, Tetra Pak uses Bonsucro-certified plant-based polymers from sustainably managed sugarcane in its packaging, part of Tetra Pak's efforts to promote responsible sourcing and create a low-carbon cycle Another important milestone on the economic road
    .

Pursuing excellent environmental performance is one of the core strategies of Tetra Pak, but to realize the transformation from a circular economy to a low-carbon circular economy, it is not enough to focus only on recycling and reuse.
Emission impacts are also taken into account
    .
Greenhouse gas emissions can be significantly reduced by using plant-based materials such as cardboard used in Tetra Pak packaging and plant-based polymers derived from sugar cane
    .
Among the plant-based polymers supplied to Tetra Pak, the supplier Brasco has achieved 100% Bonsucro certification for the production of sugarcane bioethanol
    .

Tetra Pak has a long-standing commitment to promoting responsible sourcing and has developed strong partnerships with relevant organisations such as the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™)
    .
Since 2007, Tetra Pak has sold more than 500 billion packs of FSC™ certified carton packaging
    .
Tetra Pak's ultimate goal is to use entirely plant-based or recycled materials, and to achieve fully recyclable packaging, contributing to a low-carbon circular economy and ensuring safe food is available everywhere
    .
Tetra Pak is expected to provide users with packaging with the Bonsucro certification label in the first quarter of 2020
