Thai Nation Daily reported on January 26 that the Animal Husbandry Department of Thailand’s Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives said that this year, the production of live pigs in Thailand is expected to decrease by nearly 12%

The director of the Animal Husbandry Department said that there are currently 10.
8 million live pigs in the country, of which male and female breeding pigs are 49,000 and 979,000 respectively, a decrease of 41% and 11% over last year.
The reason is that small pig farmers have reduced their pig numbers due to concerns about the impact of the new crown epidemic on demand and African swine fever control measures
