The 2018 Global Agricultural Research Hotspot Is Released

July 29th, the 2018 Global Agricultural Research Hotspots Report (hereinafter referred to as the Report) was officially released, which provides an in-depth analysis of the cutting-edge performance of research hotspots in 10 major countries, including China, the United States and Germany. The report was completed by the Science and Technology Intelligence Analysis and Evaluation Innovation Team of the Agricultural Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in collaboration with core security, a professional information service provider.
, the report selects 46 agricultural research hotspots for 2018 on the basis of literature measurement indicators, and selects 10 key hot spots or frontiers for in-depth analysis and interpretation.

Among the 46 research hot spots, the U.S. research hot spot performance index ranks first in the world, China is second, and more than twice the score of third-ranked Germany. In terms of numbers, there are 18 hot spots in the U.S. research hotspot performance index, accounting for 39.13 percent of all 46 hot spots, and 11 hot spots in China, accounting for 23.91 percent. Spain and Australia each have three hot spots ranked first, Germany, France and Canada each have two hot spots ranked first, Japan has one hot spot ranked first.
U.S. performance in all disciplines remained in the top three, and china's activity in many areas was uplinding but there were still depressions. China ranks first in the national research hot spot performance index in the two disciplines of agricultural resources and environment and agricultural information and engineering, second in the four disciplines of crop, plant protection, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine and quality and processing of agricultural products, and the overall strength of the two disciplines of forestry and aquatic fisheries is relatively weak, ranking fifth and sixth, with still some gaps compared with the international level.
