The current scope of work is to study the effects of calcium carbonate on the corrosion resistance of anti-corrosion coatings developed from different sources, such as natural calcite, marble and eggshell waste.
the corrosion efficiency of eggshells was found to be the best of the calcium carbonate sources used in the study because of its unique particle-shaped structure.
recently made significant progress in the protection of metal corrosion through the use of cheap and effective protective organic coatings

. Calcium carbonate is a common filler in the coating industry because of its unique properties and sources. Different analytical techniques are used to represent different calcium carbonate sources, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM).
anti-corrosion properties of calcium carbonate coatings
and then three calcium carbonates are mixed into solvent-based coating formulations using the oil-modified soybean dehydrated castor lyofolate resin. The physical mechanical properties of the dry film were tested. Immersion tests, electrochemical impedance spectrometry and SEM/EDAX are used to detect the corrosion resistance of coatings containing three sources of calcium carbonate. The results show that the corrosion efficiency of eggshell is best in three sources due to its unique particle shape structure.
the study was published in Progress in Organic Coatings, volume 128, March 2019, pp. 168-180.
