Voltage-gated calcium channels (Ca V ) are widely present in the human body and are closely related to a series of important physiological processes such as muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and pain perception

November 2, 2021, Institute of Biophysics Research Group Zhao Yan and Huang Zhuo School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Group, Institute of Physics and Jiang Daohua research group in " the Cell Reports on" Cooperation journal published an article entitled "Closed- The article “ state inactivation and pore-blocker modulation mechanisms of human Ca V 2.

Closed state inactivation is a unique property of a few voltage-gated calcium ion channels

Figure 1: The structural basis for the closed-state inactivation of the voltage-gated calcium channel Ca V 2.

The study also reported the complex structure of polypeptide analgesic "Ziconotide", small molecule inhibitors and Ca V 2.

Researcher Yan Zhao from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Huang Zhuo from the School of Pharmacy, Peking University, and Distinguished Researcher Jiang Daohua from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences are the co-corresponding authors of this research paper
