    The reporter learned on the 27th that the State Drug Administration approved the application for
    registration of innovative products of "proton therapy system" produced by Shanghai enterprises.
    In the future, the domestic proton therapy system will be officially put into use
    in the Cancer Proton Center of Ruijin Hospital (hereinafter referred to as Ruijin Hospital) affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
     
    The approved proton therapy system is used to treat solid malignancies and certain benign diseases
    throughout the body.
    Ruijin Hospital undertakes clinical trials as a clinical trial and carries out clinical trials of fixed beams and 180-degree rotating beam treatment rooms of proton therapy systems from the end of 2021

    During the six-month clinical trial, the team of Ruijin Hospital verified the accuracy and stability of the proton ray range, determined the clinical application scenarios of the equipment according to the condition characteristics of different subjects, explored and established the proton therapy technology and clinical standardized operation specifications in line with the Chinese group, and formed a systematic, standardized and standardized program
    for the application of the proton therapy system to tumor treatment.
     
    The clinical trial results proved that after the subjects were treated by proton beam irradiation, the tumor symptoms, signs and landmark tumor indicators were significantly improved, and the tumor control rate reached 100%, of which nearly half of the subjects' tumor lesions completely disappeared, and 10% of the subjects' tumor foci were significantly reduced; At the same time, the precise "blasting" of the proton beam effectively controls the dose and volume of irradiation on normal tissues, reduces the side effects of radiation therapy on normal tissues and the impact of treatment on the quality of life of
    patients.
    It is reported that in the next step, Ruijin Hospital will enter the stage
    of formal clinical treatment of cancer patients.

    At present, relevant enterprises have invested 620 million yuan in Jiading District, Shanghai to build a particle beam technology research and development and equipment manufacturing base integrating production, learning, research and use, and will carry out the research and development and industrialization transformation
    of miniaturized proton therapy devices and multi-particle therapy devices according to the development needs of domestic particle radiotherapy and international development trends.
