News from the European Commission's official website on May 31: The European Commission has approved South African red bush tea ("Rooibos"/"Red Bush") as a geographical indication product .
Red bush tea has a fruity, woody and spicy taste.
It is harvested and dried every summer.
Its taste has become a cultural symbol of South Africa.
At present, 262 non- EU countries' geographical indication products have been protected in the EU.
