Choices International Foundation, in association with the Ministry of Health of Malaysia, held the "Workshop on Coorperation and Executive Of Front-of-Pack (FOP) Labelling" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, september 14-15, 2015. The conference was supported by Professor Barry Popkin of the University of North Carolina, USA, with representatives from China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Brunei participating in the seminar, as well as the Executive Vice President of the FOP Working Group of the Chinese Nutrition Society, Yu Fengying, and Zhao Jia of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Institute of Nutrition and Health., chaired by Rokiah Don of the Ministry of Health of Malaysia and Professor Barry Popkin of the University of North Carolina, was based on the fourth meeting of the three previous four-nation FOP exchanges held in Singapore, Shanghai, China, and Bangkok, Thailand, to discuss the current state of development of the FOP labelling system in several countries in East and South-East Asia. and gradually reached a relatively unanimous view.the purpose of this meeting is to share the experiences and challenges faced by countries, thereby helping to coordinate and improve national programmes. The meeting was first reported by the representatives of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and China on the development of their FOP systems, and systematically expounded the implementation and management of FOP systems in various countries, as well as related issues such as food classification and nutrient thresholds. The representative of Brunei also provided a brief overview of the implementation of its nutrition labels.then, Professor Barry Popkin compared the food classifications, the selection of target nutrients and nutrient values involved in national systems, systematically described the consistency and differences in the existence of FOP systems in each country, and made recommendations accordingly. Dr. Rutger Schilpzand, Project Leader at choices International Foundation, advises on the organizational and financial allocations involved in the specific implementation of the FOP system, cooperation between countries, and the implementation of programmes and plans.presented many new ideas and ideas at this meeting, and achieved remarkable results in the establishment of standards and international cooperation, which solidified the basis for the next work.Based on the experience of various countries, china's FOP Working Group will further improve the FOP standards, food group classification to the international level, and will convene expert group discussions as soon as possible, further support from the Government, as well as food enterprises and food distributors consensus..
