Between March 7, 2020, and April 18, 2021, a total of 2320 patients were discharged, of which 807 (33%) were evaluated at 5 months and 1 year follow-up (the study is ongoing).

Obesity, decreased mobility, numerous sequelae, and elevated levels of the inflammatory biomarker C-reactive protein (CRP) were all seen in the more severe group

Levels of the inflammatory biomarker interleukin-6 (IL-6) were relatively higher in the groups with extremely severe impairment, and moderate impairment with cognitive impairment, compared with the mild impairment group

"In our study, the extent of limited recovery in terms of symptoms, mental health, exercise capacity, organ damage, and quality of life was significant in patients five months to one year after discharge," Dr.

She added : "We found that women and obese patients had relatively poorer recovery after 1 year
