Marcos said that the current price of imported food in the Philippines is soaring, and the government has decided to prioritize the local food supply
    .
To achieve food self-sufficiency and security, the Philippines is providing innovative solutions and financial support to farmers and fishermen to adapt to new technologies and connect to national and global value supply chains, aiming to enable the Philippines to achieve the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, which include eradicating hunger and achieving food security
    .

In this year's State of the Union address, Marcos identified agriculture as a priority sector, hoping to strengthen and stabilize food prices
    during his tenure.
He hopes to boost agricultural production
by providing farmers with financing for cheap fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, feed and fuel.
He also hopes to improve the distribution of agricultural products by building a nationwide farm-to-market road network and expanding the
Ministry of Agriculture's Market System (Kadiwa).

Marcos said the measures will be included in the integrated agricultural development plan and are expected to be completed
    in the next planting season.
The government has allocated 12 billion pesos to extend next year's rice buffer capacity from 9 days to 15 days to enhance resilience in the looming global food crisis
