On May 21st, the team started an artificial breeding study of bare-belly mackerel, obtained 120,000 naked-belly mackerel eggs, and performed artificial fertilization, which accounted for 50% of the fertilization rate of fish eggs, and obtained 25,200 bare-belly mackerel fry with a seed hatching rate of 42%. Naked belly mackerel fry after 50 days of careful cultivation, but also save more than 6000 tails, has reached more than 6 cm, is in good development, strong feeding capacity. The successful breakthrough of the artificial breeding technology of the naked belly is a leap forward in the ecological protection work of the Yili River basin in Xinjiang, especially the protection and proliferation and release of the naked belly.
According to Zhang Ying, a researcher at Heilongjiang Aquatic Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Aquatic Sciences, the naked belly is a herring, a fish of the genus, commonly known as "herring", native to the Black Sea, the Three Seas and other basins, the Soviet Union introduced it to Lake Balkash in 1933-1934, and entered china's Yili River system, becoming an important aquatic wild species in the Yili River basin. Since the 1990s, the population of naked slugs in the Ili River basin has plummeted and is classified as a national secondary protected animal. In view of the urgent protection of bare belly in the Yili River basin of Xinjiang, the team launched a joint attack this year, and achieved a successful breakthrough in the artificial breeding technology of naked belly slugs, and the seedlings obtained from the artificial breeding of bare belly slugs greatly enriched the population of bare belly slugs.
The scientific research team will also carry out scientific experiments such as naked belly fish breeding physiology, feed nutrition, parent-based cultivation and seed scale cultivation on the basis of the existing bare belly seed breeding technology, and gradually improve the bare belly seed protection technology after analysis and summary, so as to make this technology more practical, realize the large-scale cultivation of bare belly mackerel seed, and lay a solid foundation for future research on the protection technology of naked belly mackerel and the restoration of the breeding and release population.
