    U.S. researchers have discovered a mechanism by which common respiratory viruses evade the human immune system and could be used in the future to develop vaccines against common respiratory virus infections.
    "human pulmonary virus" is the second most common cause of respiratory infections in children and the elderly worldwide, after another single-stranded RNA virus of the same genus, the respiratory syncytial virus. The study, published February 3 in the British journal Nature Microbiology, showed that the "human pulmonary virus" escapes the attacks of biologically inherent immune responses through a common RNA methylation modification (m6A).
    Researchers at Ohio State University in the United States, by tracking cell signals used to produce an inherent immune response, found that the "human pulmonary virus" after methylation modified, successfully reduced the immune protein's ability to recognize viral RNA, thus avoiding the immune system attack.
