    Leroy Hood, 78, one of today's biological legends, published his latest research, "Health Research on 108 People in Personalized, Intensive, and Dynamic Data Clouds," on

    Leroy Hood is one of the founders of the Human Genome Project and a member of the American Academy of Sciences, The Academy of Engineering, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Science and the Arts. In recent years, he has conducted a series of studies based on 4P medicine and helped set up the Beijing 4P Health Research Institute in China.

    They calculated multigene scores from 127 genome-wide association studies of personality traits and diseases (GWAS) and used them to identify molecular correlations between multigene risk (e.g., the genetic risk of enteritis was negatively correlated with cysteine in the plasma). Finally, they developed "personal data-based behavioral counseling" to help participants improve clinical biomarker indicators. The results suggest that over time, the personal data cloud can improve our understanding of health and disease, including the transition of early symptoms to disease status.

The monthly guidance course is designed to help participants understand the data and create a plan to address any physical concerns. For example, 95 people had low levels of vitamin D, 81 had high levels of mercury, and 52 were considered pre-diabetic - all three characteristics that improved most significantly during the study period among all the characteristics measured by the participants. Individual participants receive guidance to change their diet, take vitamin supplements, exercise, or consult their doctor for medical advice.
    For the study, Eric Topol, director of the Scripps Institute for Translational Sciences in San Diego, California, said they are taking the collection of personal physiological information to "new heights and depths", while Hu Zhiyuan, director of the Beijing 4P Institute of Health, said the study is an important step toward promoting the concept of 4P medicine.
