The Synthetic Routes of 6-Chloro-3-Methyl-Imidazo[1,2-B]Pyridazine: A Review in Chemical Industry

    Introduction:

6-Chloro-3-methyl-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine is an important compound used in various industries such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and dyes.
The chemical structure of 6-chloro-3-methyl-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine is shown below:

This compound is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other chemicals and drugs.
There are several synthetic routes for the preparation of 6-chloro-3-methyl-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine, and in this article, we will discuss some of the most commonly used routes in chemical industry.

    Synthetic Routes:

    1. Hydrochlorination of N-(3-chloro-2-methyl-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrid-6-yl)acetamide:

One of the most commonly used synthetic routes for the preparation of 6-chloro-3-methyl-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine is the hydrochlorination of N-(3-chloro-2-methyl-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrid-6-yl)acetamide.
The starting material N-(3-chloro-2-methyl-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrid-6-yl)acetamide is first synthesized by reacting N-(2-chloro-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrid-6-yl)acetamide with sodium hydroxide, followed by hydrolysis with hydrochloric acid.
The resulting product is then hydrogenated to remove the amino group, and 6-chloro-3-methyl-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine is obtained by treating the hydrogenated product with hydrochloric acid.

    1. From N-(3-chloro-2-methyl-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrid-6-yl)benzamide:

Another commonly used synthetic route for the preparation of 6-chloro-3-methyl-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine is the reduction of N-(3-chloro-2-methyl-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrid-6-yl)benzamide.
The starting material N-(3-chloro-2-methyl-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrid-6-yl)benzamide is synthesized by reacting N-(2-chloro-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrid-6-yl)benzamide with phosphorus trichloride.
The resulting N-(3-chloro-2-methyl-1H-imidazo[1,2-b]pyrid-6-yl)benzamide is then reduced with lithium aluminum hydride to obtain 6-chloro-3-methyl-imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine.
