    As a seed colorant, tin oxide can be added at a maximum amount of 40% (by weight) in pesticide formulations.
    This exemption application was submitted by Aceto Corporation in accordance with the requirements of the US "Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act".
     
    The US Environmental Protection Agency conducted a risk assessment on its toxicity and carcinogenicity, and concluded that tin oxide has no effect on the health of the general population, infants and children, and therefore exempted its maximum residue limit requirements.
     
    The new regulations will come into effect on the date of promulgation, and relevant personnel shall submit their opinions before January 8, 2019.
