United States Furniture Today reported on December 13 that the United States Department of Commerce recently issued a preliminary decision to recover up to 216% tariffs from eight Chinese furniture manufacturers for wooden bedroom furniture exported to the United States in 2017 .
    The U.
    S.
Department of Commerce stated that the eight companies, including the mandatory respondent Decca Furniture, have failed to prove that they are entitled to a lower individual tax rate.
In the Federal Registration Announcement issued on December 12 local time, the Ministry of Commerce did not announce the names of the remaining companies.
These companies that are taxed 216% are only part of the Chinese manufacturers.
Before about 120 days (ie the beginning of April 2019) the final decision will be based on 2017 from eight manufacturers of wooden bedroom furniture to buy a record, and the record of imports pay the higher amount of business tariffs .
These companies are part of the 73 companies identified in this annual review.
The content of this review is whether the tax rate of manufacturers within one year is higher than their initial cash deposit interest rate.
The names of 60 companies were eventually withdrawn, making the tax rates of the other 13 companies higher.
Except for these 8 companies, although the remaining 5 companies did not have shipping records during this period, there were no other reviewable items.
However, the US Department of Commerce stated that these companies will also be subject to this high tax rate of 216% for Chinese companies.
Relevant parties can choose to issue an objection or submit a summary of the case within 30 days from the publication of the Federal Notice on December 12.
It is also possible to request a hearing within the first 30 days.
If the final review results are consistent with the preliminary results, the U.
    S.
Department of Commerce will notify the U.
    S.
Customs and Border Protection of the results and provide instructions including liquidation of the high tax rates imposed on wooden bedroom furniture imported from China.
