Drink moderately to protect the cardiovascular system? Research evidence does not support it.
The study recruited 512,715 adults from 10 regions in the country from 2004 to 2008, and recorded alcohol use and other characteristics.
The results of traditional observational epidemiological studies have shown that men’s self-reported alcohol intake is associated with the risk of ischemic stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, and myocardial infarction in a U shape (males who consume approximately 100 grams of pure alcohol per week) Among them, the risk of ischemic stroke, cerebral hemorrhage and myocardial infarction is the lowest, which is lower than that of non-drinkers).
In response to the results of the study, experts reminded that there are health risks associated with drinking at any level; the protective effect of moderate drinking on the cardiovascular system is not causal; with the increase in alcohol intake, the risk of blood pressure and stroke continues to increase.
