Trial production of Guangdong petrochemical refining and chemical integration project

On October 26, PetroChina Guangdong Petrochemical Refining and Chemical Integration Project Atmospheric Vacuum Distillation Unit II successfully introduced crude oil, marking that the project has fully entered the stage
of feeding and trial production.

Atmospheric vacuum distillation plant II is the leading device of Guangdong Petrochemical Project, with a design processing capacity of 10 million tons / year, an annual operating hour of 8400 hours, a design flexibility of 60%~110%, and a design operation cycle of 4 years for major repair
.
The device adopts high vacuum decompression and deep drawing technology to provide raw materials for downstream continuous reforming, jet coal hydrogenation, diesel hydrogenation and other devices; At the same time, narrow point technology is used to optimize the heat exchange network, make full use of the waste heat of the device, and achieve the purpose of
reducing energy consumption.

The basic design and detailed design of the plant were completed by PetroChina East China Design Institute Co.

, as the general contractor, started construction in March 2020 and was handed over
on June 26, 2022.

In this feeding trial production, Guangdong Petrochemical Co.

will consider the factors of balancing materials, reducing costs, and making the whole process safe, green and environmentally friendly, and the atmospheric vacuum distillation unit II will be produced at 70% load for 10 days, in coordination with the other 6 sets of plants such as naphtha hydrogenation that started in the same batch, to provide oil intermodal transportation, catalyst vulcanization oil and some equipment reserve raw materials
for the subsequent plant start-up.

The project is the largest refining project with one-time investment by PetroChina, and is currently the only refining base in China that can fully process inferior heavy oil, which can increase the added value of products by 25% and reduce energy consumption by about 15% compared with refining and chemical enterprises of the same scale, processing 20 million tons of crude oil annually, producing 1.
