Original title: Two weeks of in exercise vascular function decreased
It is well known that low physical activity and sedentation significantly increase the risk of metabolic diseases such as obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Researchers at the University of Newcastle and the University of Liverpool found that for young non-obese adults, even short periods of ins exercise and sedentfulness can affect health.
to examine the effects of reduced physical activity on metabolic status, body composition and cardiovascular (endothy) function in the short term, the researchers selected 28 participants (18 women and 10 men) who were able to walk more than 10,000 steps per day. Participants walked an average of about 1,000 fewer steps per day and increased sedent for 103 minutes during the study period, compared to the amount of activity each person had in the early stages of the study. The results showed that after 14 days, these people's cardiovascular function decreased by 1.8%, total fat weight increased, waist circumference bent, liver fat accumulation, insulin sensitivity and decreased cardiopulmonary function. After 14 days of normal activity, these indicators returned to their initial levels.
, presented at the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, argues that public health messages need to emphasize that even short-term in exercise can have adverse health effects, which can be offset by habitual exercise. (Chen Xueying)
