The VietnamEse Association of Aquatic Producers and Exporters (VASP) plans to take several steps to increase the participation of member companies in global supply chains to enable the fisheries sector to reach its $12 billion export target by 2025, a 40 percent increase from this year, Safeood News reported on December 30.

the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and other trade agreements with major markets such as South Korea, Japan and ASEAN have helped Vietnamese seafood become competitive in these markets.

the association aims to reach its goal of exporting $12 billion by 2025, the VASP Association plans to increase its membership from its current 160 to 300 and strengthen its ties.
To 2025, Vietnam's shrimp exports are expected to exceed 1 million tons, which will help Vietnam overtake India as the world's largest shrimp exporter, and the association plans to promote consumption of shrimp and other products in the domestic market.
Vietnamese seafood exports to more than 160 markets around the world, with the United States, Japan, the European Union, China, South Korea and ASEAN as the largest markets.
with this five-year strategic vision, VASP hopes the seafood industry can increase profitability and add value and promote Vietnamese seafood brands around the world.
