This is the basis for the companies of the two countries to continue to promote trade, making full use of the benefits of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Vice Minister Feng Dejin said that Vietnam-Russia cooperation in the agricultural field is currently mainly trade cooperation.
From 2018 to 2020, the average annual two-way trade volume between Vietnam and Russia will reach approximately US$4.
5 billion, of which agricultural products account for about 18-20%, which is equivalent to US$900 million per year.
This number is still not commensurate with the economic potential and strategic partnership between the two countries and needs to be greatly improved in the future.

Vietnam’s export products are mainly coffee, seafood and vegetables.
Imports are mainly wheat, seafood, wood, rubber, pork and so on.

Vice Minister Feng Dejin believes that in terms of commodity structure, it can be said that the agricultural products of the two countries are basically not in direct competition, but are complementary.
Therefore, both parties need to use their own superior products, especially in the context of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, to turn challenges into opportunities, so as to help achieve the overall goal of 10 billion US dollars that the leaders of the two countries have put forward.

In terms of investment, as of December 2020, Russia ranked 25th among 144 countries and regions in investment in Vietnam, with a total of 139 projects and a total registered investment of US$94377 million.

In contrast, Vietnam has about 25 investment projects in the Russian Federation with a total investment of approximately US$3 billion.
The largest project is the TH True Milk Group project.

Vice Minister Feng Dejin suggested that Russia and Vietnam strengthen close cooperation to promote bilateral agricultural investment cooperation.

Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergey Levin believes that despite the many difficulties faced by the negative impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic on the world, the two sides still hold regular trade and investment meetings in a new way.

Holding a business forum to promote trade in agricultural products between Vietnam and Russia within the framework of the second Vietnam-Russian agricultural working group meeting plays a very important role in promoting cooperation between the two parties and will help promote foreign cooperation in the future.

Deputy Minister Sergey Levin also affirmed the potential and prospects for agricultural cooperation and trade growth between the two countries.
Russia very much hopes to promote and consolidate the development of the two sides and expand their cooperation.

In order to consolidate the development of trade relations, Russia will send representatives to the Russian Embassy in Vietnam to participate in these activities in the future.

At the forum, Miratorg Group and Xiangyue Company held a memorandum of cooperation signing ceremony.
