    On August 2, 2022, Zhang Wei's research group from the School of Life Sciences of Peking University, the State Key Laboratory of Protein and Plant Genetic Research, and the Peking University-Tsinghua Joint Center for Life Sciences published an online cover article entitled "The "Evolution and diversification of oakleaf butterflies" research paper


    By collecting samples from 13 geographic populations of Nymphalidae and other Nymphalidae samples, this study re-sequenced the genomes of 105 butterfly specimens from 21 genera, and traced the origin of Nymphalidae

    In order to dissect the genetic mechanism of the polymorphism of the leaf shape on the ventral surface of Nymphalidae, this study focused on the subspecies of Nymphetia sinensis.

    In conclusion, this study focused on Nymphalidae, deeply analyzed the origin and evolutionary history of species diversity of Nymphalidae, and provided insights into the generation and maintenance mechanism of leaf morphological polymorphisms in Nymphalidae.
